Martin met Chen during his studies in China where he lived several years. When they wrote me regarding their wedding they were still in China and preparing to move to Germany and preparing their wedding in Germany as well.
Chen only spoke Chinese and English when they arrived in Germany so that one of Martin’s friends had to translate during theĀ civil ceremony and most of the conversations that day were in English as well. Only the closest family and friends attended the ceremony and then gathered at the groom’s parents’ home for champaign and some snacks before giong to the reception site later. They also used the break for a videocall with Chen’s parents over Skype. Unfortunately None of Chen’s family was able to attend the wedding in Germany. That is why they already planned another wedding party in China 2013.
Bride, groom and the wedding photographer already went earlier to the location to take their couple photos and wedding portraits. Schloss Engers at the shores of the Rhine River in Neuwied is an amazing backdrop for such photos – outside as well as inside – and a very romantinc location to have a wedding reception. The reception itself was filled with games, slideshows and talks and I enjoyed to learn a few more details about their love story that way.
