Arequipa is a beautiful city in southern Peru, built at the foot of the Misti Vulcano. With dry and sunny climate most of the year and amazing food it is always a nice escape. Over the last years I have been traveling quite a few times to Arequipa, usually for work. But this is the first destination wedding in Arequipa I have photographed. Joselyn and Juan Diego are both from Lima but the like Arequipa es well. Many of their wedding guests flew in from abroad so that they decided to make it a destination wedding for everyone including friends and family from Lima.
Most guests arrived in Arequipa the days before the wedding and on friday evening they had a casual get together watching footbal and having drinks. On Saturday, the wedding day, Joselyn got ready at the Libertador Hotel
The wedding ceremony was held in the Parroquia San Juan Bautista in Yanahuara in the heart of Arequipa. After the bride and groom portraits they picked the Founder’s Mansion or Mansion del Fundador for their reception. Â After dinner and the first dance the party started and did not stop all night.
