Zorritos is a small beach town in Northern Peru where the climate is warm and sunny almost year round. That makes it great location for a small destination beach wedding like this one.
Monica met David during her Peace Corps service in Ferrenafe, close to Chiclayo in Northern Peru. They were friends for about 2 years before they started dating and fell in love. When it was time for Monica to go back home they decided to get married. They chose the Grillo 3 Puntas Eco-Hostel in Zorritos as their wedding venue as they had spent their vacations there before and loved the place. The eco hostel has very basic installations with a few bungalows and places to set up your tent on an amazing property right at the beach. Most of the guests arrived from the USA but this way it was a destination wedding for the Peruvian guests as well.
Monica got ready with her friends at the “butterfly suite” (casa de la mariposa) while David got ready with his family in a separate bungalow. It was a very hot day without airconditioning.
The ceremony was set up right on the beach facing the ocean. The officiant was a friend Monica met who also came to Peru for her Peace Corps service. This along with the the speeches resulted in a very personal and emotional ceremony right before sunset, when we did the family and couple portraits.
After dinner the reception quickly turned into a big dance party despite all language barriers between Peruvian and US American guests.
Meanwhile 428 days later David finally has his visa to follow his wife to the states.
