Pilar’s & Jose Antonio’s EPIC Wedding Hacienda San Jose in Chincha! The Hacienda San Jose is a cottage that was build in the 17th century and at its best times counted with an incredible 600 hectars of land where they mainly harvested sugar cane and bee honey. Nowadays the hacienda is luxury hotel with a big green garden, a swimming pool and its own chapel. Thus for a Wedding Hacienda San Jose is the ideal location. The only disadvantage is that it is located about 3 hours south of Lima so that your guests have to stay at the Hacienda and surrounding hotels making your wedding literally a destination wedding.
And this is how Pilar and Jose Antonio got married. They stayed at the Hacienda from Thursday to Sunday, receiving most of their guests on Friday for a get together with local music and dance groups and local food.

Saturday, the day of the actual wedding, started at the pool. Bright sun, Blue Sky and palm trees made the perfect backdrop. Pilar was getting ready with her mother and sister as well as most of the bridal party. Makeup was done by Pepe Pitasig. At the same time she was still coordinating vendors, details and the latest version of the schedule together with her wedding planner. Meanwhile Jose Antonio got dressed a few rooms away with his brother and then went to a nearby property with some friends to have some Pisco and come back riding Peruvian Paso Horses. They had prepared a little show for their guests riding horses to Peruvian marinera music.
From there he already entered the Chapel with his mother and waited for Pilar who was walked down the aisle by her father moments later. They had decorated everything without forgetting the slightest detail. Even the church was completely decorated with flowers and candles by the amazing team of Felipe Ossio. The priest who married them is Pilar’s cousin who came especially from Switzerland where he lives. What a privilege to have a family member marry you!
Outside the chapel in front of the main entrance of the Cottage they had installed a cocktail reception with snacks a bar and Peruvian live music. After the ceremony we escaped for the portrait session while the guests could have a drink and some food. Coming back Pilar and Jose Antonio entered the cocktail with spectacular fireworks. At around 8pm the guests moved to the other side of the building and to the actual reception where Pilar and Jose Antonio had their first dance. And then the party began – a big party with everyone enjoying it to the max especially the bride and groom. Later at night the Hora Loca by Divertimento Express got everybody to spend their last energy.
Apart from the spectacular location and the amazing decoration (and the delicious food) that is one thing that I remember most from this wedding. Bride and groom had just one plan for this weekend. Enjoying their wedding day, their party no matter what. There was no stress, no complications, no compromise.

The next day many guests had to leave early but for those staying a bit longer the couple had prepared a big brunch for everybody to recover from last night and to properly say good by. Many guests had come from outside the country and they haven’t seen them for quite a while. The wedding cake that was almost forgotten during the party was now cut and served.(Photo above Joe Becerra for Maik Dobiey Wedding Photography)
