Nancy and Omar booked a Hacienda in Mamacona with a beautiful garden full of green plants and flowers which worked well together with their relaxed colorful wedding with lots of flowers. They got ready early in the morning at the Westin Hotel in Lima and drove over to Mamacona. Neither of them was dressed as you would expect a bride or a groom. No white wedding dress, no smoking but sneakers instead and yet elegant. Their civil ceremony was around midday when the sun was highest. The couple and most of the guests could luckily sit in the shade of trees or used umbrellas that Nancy & Omar provided for everyone. Being a civil ceremony the actual wedding was short but very emotional.
Nancy works as an Anthropologist and tried to incorporate lots of traditional Peruvian Elements. So the ceremony at this Mamacona Wedding was followed by a traditional marinera dance with a Peruvian caballo de paso. Another show was performed by a group of peruvian scissor dancers on the dancefloor after we came back from the family portraits. For me it was the first time I saw this traditional Peruvian folklore dance and I was impressed by the acrobatic moves. After lunch the dancefloor was taken over by the guests and the bride and groom.
