Rhine River Wedding because the different locations of Julia’s and Felix’s Wedding in August 2012 happened to be all along the Rhine River in Bonn, Germany. I had the honor to photograph their wedding at all these locations from getting ready to the party late at night. After they got dressed in their apartment, they said YES in the beautiful old Commandry of Bonn Ramersdorf, close to Rhine which is only open for civil weddings on a few dates per year. So as you could expect there were quite few wedding ceremonys this day but Julia & Felix managed to get the garden for a short celebration after the ceremony.
We then drove to the close by shores of the Rhine river to take some bridal portraits and couple photos. It was a really hot day even though we were in the shade for most part. Especially the bride in her long wedding dress but also the groom in his suit preferred to take some more photos when it became cooler.
For the reception they picked the restaurant Rolandsbogen on a little mountain in Remagen, south of Bonn. The terrace has a breath taking view over the Rhine and the whole region. Its name derives from the Ark which is the remaining ruin of the old Castle Rolandseck. From here you can see two other castles: Wolkenburg and Drachenfels. After a few drinks a big dinner the couple opened the party with their first dance.
Take some time and see what their wedding day looked like:
