Since my wedding season 2015 never really ended and I was booked solid through January 2016 it took me a while to sort out some favorite images for a best of 2015 blogpost. In the end it turned into several blogposts. Here you can find a selection of my best wedding portraits of 2015. Almost all of those favorites where taken on the wedding day but there also a few images that where taken on another day in order to use a special location and to get rid of the time restraints and stress of the wedding day schedule. For example the wedding portraits from the amazing Salar de Uyuni Saltflats in Bolivia or the second photo below at the beach. On the wedding day itself it would be impossible to take the type of spectacular wedding portraits if that meant to get wet or dirty. So it is a great option to schedule another photoshoot and to put on your dress and suit one more time.

For my wedding portraits I always try to be spontaneous and to keep things flowing. If you want to perfect the one photo and the one pose you have in mind and it does not come naturally there is no sense in trying as the couple will become uncomfortable, bored and the smile freezes. For the wedding potraits I am after I need the couple to have fun during the shoot. I don’t make plans either. That way I can be inspired in the moment. Inspired by the couple itself, by how they interact, by what they told me about themselves. Inspired by the light at that moment or by the location or both. I try to get a mixture of closeups, full body and tiny bride and groom in the frame, may go for a silhouette to ad variety. You can see below which ones usually end up being my favorites.
